My new hobbie is dv.. So I'm trying to encode things now with MPEG 4 format. I've been using QT 6 and Cleaner 5 (for os x).
So far the results have been extrordinarily pathetic. I've gotten better results with mpeg 1 then with mpeg4. so far i've tried all kinds of settings in cleaner using apples mp4 compressor, keyframe 24 (which I will soon change to 99999) bitrates up to 3000 kbytes/s. The video also gets really choppy when I enlarge the movie to its original size from the source.

Does anyone know settings for mpeg 4 for the best quality to size ratio. Or hell just best quality with a picture as big as my iMac screen?
