Is anyone familiar with the AEL DC-31U digital camera or the company that makes them? I was wondering about the quality of their products and their customer service. Their web site is located below. The price is unbelievable, which worries me, but is almost cheap enough to take a chance, but I can't afford to throw money away. Thanks.

The following quote is verbatim from their web site:
"It's unbelievably affordable..."

So I would take what they say at face value and not believe it.

Seriously, you can't expect much for $56. But if your expectations are low, you might be happy with it.

Three years ago, when I was a novice to the graphic world, I bought a piece of software "Cosmopolitan Virtual Metamorphosis", which enables one to change hair pieces and accessories on victims unfortunate enough to have their photo in your possession.

One of the reasons I bought it was because it came with a free digital camera.

The camera was really something that you would find in a cornflakes box......., but that being said, one in fifty or so of the photo's were good enough to work with or print out or email to someone and the forty-nine thrown away captures didn't cost a cent.

I say go for it, capture some moments and get a feel for digital photography while saving for something really good.

The prices for decent cameras are still on the way down, the longer you wait to buy a good one the better off you will be.

This camera could stop you missing out on memorable photo's untill then.

i knew someone who bought one of those "unknown" brands and he couldn't make it work on his Win98 PC, even though it was made and sold for Windows. I tried all the drivers included. I even tried downloading the newest drivers. i also tried all kinds of tricks and hacks on my Mac and both iphoto and image capture could not recognize it. It took another friend who had Win2K and new drivers to finally make it work.
