I have suddenly lost the ability to save QT movies from iMovie. The option appears, but if I select it, the action just does not happen. (The screen 'ghosts' the dialog box, a few seconds pass, and them I am back to the iMovie screen.)

I have reloaded iMovie 2.0.1 (?) from my CD, and the option works fine from it. I then upgraded to 2.1, and that's where I seem to have lost the ability to save QT movies.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The usual course of action would be to toss the prefs (for iMovie and/or QuickTime), and if that does not work, try a Custom install and remove all of the QuickTime components and then run a full reinstall of QuickTime.

Ok, more details. I tried throwing away the prefs for iMovie and QT. Still could not save QT movies from iMovie.

Reloaded iMovie, worked fine. Upgraded to iMovie 2.1.1, worked fine. Installed GEETHREE pack 1, worked fine.

Reinstalled Toast, and then I could no longer save QT movies. (Toast has an option to create video CDs from the QT menu.)

So, apparently there is a conflict with Toast and some version of something else.

Anyone else successfully using Toast with iMovie?

Thanks.

try disabling the toast vcd extensions,
or deleting & reinstalling toast itself.

not sure what's happening for you. i have toast 5.1.3, QT6, iMvi 2.1.1 on my mac, os 9.2.2, no problems exporting to quicktime...
