what is different in FCP 3.0 Academic and retail? is it possible to use academic version comercially?

Feature-wise, they are identical. The only difference is in the end user license agreement. Using an academic version for commercial purposes violates the agreement and is, for all intents and purposes, illegal.

If you're using FCP for commercial projects, buy the full retail version.

Agree! I'm using the Academic version as well, now all I need is the new dualie to make it fly.

Seriously though, read the EULA. If you plan to make money using FCP, you should get the retail package.
