iMovie 2 Question

Hi all, I'm having a problem opening up a project in iMovie2 (OSX) that was created with iMovie1 (OS9). When I launch iMovie2 and choose open project, my old OS9 movie shows up as a greyed out DOC file instead of a imovie file. The movie is saved on an external 60GB HD but when I find it it is always greyed out and a doc file. The movie opens up and plays fine when I run OS9 but in OSX I can't even open it.
Any ideas?
I tried the search and looked through old post with no luck...

You could try resaving it as a new file from OS 9 then trying again. Or if all else fails you could export to back to DV tape then import into iMovie 2 in OS X.
