I have a DIVX movie thats 786 MB and would like to save it to CD (only hold 700MB) is there a program you guys could suggest that would split the movie into 2 smaller parts so I could fit it on to 2 CD's??

If you're willing to save it as two MOV files, quicktime pro is just what you want.

If you want to keep it as an AVI, I think Stuffit Deluxe can archive things to multiple files.

A real long shot is Media Cleaner. You might be able to cut up the movie in QTPro, then pass it through cleaner to create a new, shorter AVI. But for me Cleaner always screws up the mp3 audio, because AVI's aren't supposed to have mp3 audio. A shorter shot would be MediaPipe, but until the next version, at least, MP doesn't support more than one media type at once, so you can have your video and audio, but I don't know of a way to mux them as an AVI

If one has access to a PC (or VirtualPC on a Mac) then AviChop (PC freeware) works very nicely for this purpose. . You specify the number of megs for the chunks and it does a nice job of making the cuts at keyframe boundaries so you avoid messing up the encoding. Also nice for breaking long avi files into emailable chunks.
Does anyone know of a similar program for QT on a Mac? Granted you can easily split .mov files with QT Pro but it sure would be nice to be able to have it automated.

I'll grant you also that $200 for VirtualPC is a lot to spend to chop avi clips. However, that gives one access to VirtualDub, a wonderful freeware PC video processor that I don't believe has yet been duplicated on Macintosh. I have heard that MediaPipe is somewhat similar but VDub is very stable and has a multitude of video filters available.
