I will be soon be purchasing a Quicksilver 800 computer. Before I had decided on the Mac I had looked at the Sony VAIO desktops. Some of their top models have a feature called Giga Pocket. I think this is a video capture card that you can use to watch and record TV much like a digital VCR. Is there a product that is similar to this. I came across the ATI site that has several products but most are for PC. They make a Radeon 8500DV as well as the Video Wonder. Has anyone had any experience with this type of video card. Also I have internet via cable. TV is also broadcast on this same cable. Is there a way to watch TV using the cable or do I have to buy some sort of adapter. I can connect my TV to the cable and get the broadcast without a converter box. Thanks in advance

Two so far, a USB one and a FireWire one. EyeTV is the USB (MPEG 1) alternative, and Studio DV/TV is the FireWire device. Both have software that allows TV scheduling and recording. The FireWire device has higher quality, but I hear better customer reviews from the USB device.
