I have downloaded windows media player 7. I am on mac 9.1 when I go onto a website to view a movie clip, the clip downloads to the desktop, but a sign comes up that says, “ real player could not be opened because “pncrit.d11” could not be found.
Now with quick time, the movies come up and play right away, but even then they often get jammed up half way through. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Ken

Sounds like you are trying to download a .rpl (Real Player) and WMP does not play .rpl. So go to realplayer.com and download the the basic free player and you should be fine. I just downloaded the OSX beta and it seems to be working fine for me. Latas

Thanks dj, I appreciate your reponse being the only one I've gotten.
Couple questions. I'm confused. You say I'm tyring to download rpl. (realplayer), but instead I should go to realplayer.com....
Help me out!!!!!!!! I can't understand that! rpl. realpayer vs. realplayer .com help? what am I missing.
Seriously, I have on my hardrive right now realplayer on my hard drive, 2.2 mb, under internet applications. Yet when I hit play on a movie for realplayer it downloads a a file to my desktop which is unplayable. So I'm flustered here. thanks Ken

What is
Realplayer is not the same player as Windows Media Player.
The Realplayer is made by www.real.com but WiMP is made by www.microsith.com
If you want to view Realplayer files, then you need Realplayer from www.real.com
There is no such thing as "Real Media Player". Sorry dude.

The "pncrt.dll cannot be found" error implies there is a problem with the installation of RealPlayer. If you're running on Mac OS 9 or earlier, just clean out any old install of RealPlayer and re-run the RealPlayer 8 installer. To clean out old versions, look inside the System Folder, and delete the Real folders that are in the Extensions and Application Support directories. Also delete the Real--- files inside of the Preferences folder, and throw away the RealPlayer application's folder. Run the installer after all of those folders and files have been moved to the trash. You can get the installer from real.com.
If you're running Mac OS X, just download RealOne Player from http://www.real.com/ and use that instead of RealPlayer 8.
