Greetings,
Recently I was given some episodes of ThunderCats on VCD as a gift. I was really looking forward to sitting down and watching them on my TV but my DVD player says it can't recognize the type of disc. My DVD player also plays VCDs so I'm not sure what is wrong. Could it be the disc that the episodes were burned to that is my problem. My DVD player is a Panasonic DVD/ Video CD/ CD Player, DVD-A115 if that helps any. Luckily all was not lost because I was able to view the VCDs on my G4 using the MacVCD software. Still, I don't like watching stuff on my computer. It's just not the same to me. So, I was wondering if there was a way I could burn the information from the VCDs onto DVDs that my DVD player should recognize. I'm guessing I would need some type of DVD editor to do this. I know very little about different video formats and such so I'm not sure if the format on a VCD can even be converted to DVD. If this helps, here is an idea of what the VCDs look like when I open the folder on my desktop:
There are six folders burnt to the cd, they are labeled as follows:
CDDA- this folder is empty
CDI- this folder is empty
EXT- this folder is empty
MPEGAV - this folder has 3 files in it they are:
MUSIC01.DAT
MUSIC02.DAT
MUSIC03.DAT

SEGMENT- this folder is empty
VCD- this folder has two files in it called:
ENTRIES.VCD
INFO.VCD

Again, I know so little about this stuff that I may just be offering useless information, but I'd really like to learn something from this and be able to at least get these episodes to play in my DVD player and maybe even make some menus and get more than one episode on a disc. So perferably I'd like to get the info from VCD to DVD but if thats not possible I'd like to at least get the current VCD info onto a CD that my DVD player will recognize.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
-A-

potentialy a very simple answer is that the disk type is unsupported.

ie. some players have issues with certain brands esp. cdr-w s
If thats the case, I'd suggest disk copy it onto a cd that you know works.
