Nope. M-JPEG is a codec based on the jpeg standard (joint picture expert group) which was used back before DV, although I hear that some high-end systems still use it. MPEG (motion picture expert group) 1 and 2 are totally different, AFAIK.
You should only encode as M-JPEG if you want to retain compatability with an older prefessional system.
