Those discs have a mediocre reputation. You could check out other discs on that website tho.

What DVD brands are good for our superdrives? Doesn't apple only want us to use their brand? Now, is it really their brand or some crummy little company that makes them? Also, I see that there are prices between $6-10 Ie Panasonic etc.. Is this for ONE dvd-r or for a pack of 3-5?
If it's for one.. well, that seems a lot.

DVD-R discs are expensive..... Esp. when compared to the 100 CD-R for $10 deals you see everywhere. The Apple discs are a little more $$ then the no name brands, but I've _Never_ had a problem with them.

I would second the suggestion to go with Apple brand. They are more expensive, but the "el cheapo" DVD-Rs price quickly goes up when you make a few coasters.

on that site above.... you can get other good/semi-good brands for about $1 each if you buy about 15+ ?
has anyone tried non-apple brands?

I've been getting my DVD-Rs from www.shop4tech.com in 25 packs or larger. They run under $1 a disc and I've burned 30 or so DVDs with those and never made a coaster and have yet to find a DVD player that won't recognize them. The brand I bought was Leda from that site.

I just wanted to add my two cents.
I bought a DVD duplication station that uses the same Pioneer drive as Apple's SuperDrive. I was having problems with the duplicator, and working with the manufacturers T/S, I was told that the Apple-branded DVD-R medium is made by Pioneer.
You may pay more for it, but I like using premium disks instead of taking chances.
