Hi.

Is there some magic trick to getting Cleaner 6 to export a Toast VCD? When I select it, I get the progress window and then immediately the status bar zooms across the screen and I get the "ding" that it's done.

Ugh. I'm so fed up with the quality of VCDs I'm getting I'm *this* close to picking up a superdrive on eBay and just burning DVDs...

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Scott

Cleaner is the worst piece of shite on the market for ANY platform, I can't believe those wanker coders would have the balls to actually sell it. Use ffmpegX or steal a PC and use TMPGEnc Plus.

I've been trying to use ffmpeg for a few days now. It is, quite simply, beyond me. I've looked at some tutorials for it, but nothign has helped.

Any suggestions for how to get a DV video file into a good looking VCD using ffmpeg? My DVD player doesn't seem to like SVCDs made using it. But then, I've gone through about 40 CDs in the past few days, so I can't be sure what worked and what didn't anymore....

Cheers

You might be able to use QuickTime Pro to convert a DV file to something else, there is a Toast VCD plug-in for Quicktime that makes things very easy. There aren't many sure-fire utilities like there are on the PC. I don't honestly know of the most reliable way to do it on the Mac, Cleaner is garbage get your money back. Perhaps Premiere. Take a looke at www.vcdhelp.com. I know it doesn't help, but I can tell you a 100% free and easy way to do it on the PC, but I know of no real way to do it on the Mac.
