After having finally gotten our iMovie workstation completely set up in our lab with all the components and supplies needed, I suddenly find that our 2 year old Sony DMC (DVMC-DA2) has lost the ability to capture video through the S-Video port. I've managed to convince my bosses to foot the cost of a new one and find that they seem to no longer make them (why?). This REALLY sucks because we purchased an $800 S-VHS VCR mainly because it could be controled using the LANC port on the Sony DMC. Does anyone out there know of 1.) a place that we could purchase the Sony that takes American Express or state purchase orders (ie I can't just buy it off of Joe Smith on eBay because I can't use cash or check) or 2.) another Analog to Firewire converter that include a control cable? I Iooked around on the web and did not find much hope.
