Well, I'm not sure if this is a Powermac forum question or a Digital AV question or a perfs question, so I'm gonna ask it here.
I have been trying to burn a DVD in iDVD now for a few hours. About 12 minutes into the process it spits the disc out (untouched) without any error messages and then just sits there. If I click cancel the program moves on like nothing happened. This has started since I used the Apple Powermac Superdrive firmware updater that came out around the 1st or 2nd week of Nov.
Looking around on the web I've seen a few other people that have this problem since they updated their drives as well. Anyone here have this happen, and if so, what can I do? I need to get this DVD to a client! HELP!
Thanks in advance.
(note this is the 103 version, not the 104)
p.s. Apple's forums have a few mentions about this, as well as MacInTouch

The firmware wasn't necessary for every drive. It depends what computer you're using. If it's the new Mac (mirrored doors) you don't need it. Check apple's site for the list of computers needing the upgrade. Beyond that, maybe check out macfixit.com. Good luck.

Like I mentioned in my first post, this is an original superdrive, and did need the update. Well, I guess it didn't "Need" the update... Now I wish I'd just left it alone and kept an eye out to keep 4x media out of the drive...

yep - i've posted in the apple discussions thread too. i'm not convinced the culprit is the firmware yet..even tho i'm sitting here after three hours without managing to burn the dvd i need for a job interview tomorrow.

i've been able to burn data dvds in toast without a hitch...yet in idvd that tray just keep on ejecting....i thought i'd found the answer by consolodating the files onto a single drive...but this new project is exhibiting the exact same behavior as the old project file.

i think it's an issue with idvd 2.1 and 10.2 myself.

Any idea where I can get a copy of iDVD 2.0? I heard that 10.2.2 and 2.1 don't play nice (which, of course, is what I have) Read that 2.0 won't spit out the disc. Anyone revert sucessfully?
