For a final project, I have some footage I have recorded on a VHS camera. It's one of those Compact VHS cameras with small tapes. It does have a JLIP output, but I'm not sure what that is exactly. This is the camera here:

"JLIP - Joint Level Interface Protocol terminal allows the interconnection of AV equipment and computers"

I want to digitize the footage so I can do simple editing of the footage to piece together a clip, but the problem is that I have no idea how. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Please don't limit yourself on solutions. It doesn't have to Apple. Thanks for any help.

I'd connect the tape's player to a DV camera and record it to DV tape, or use a DV media convertor to import directly to the computer. Then use iMovie to capture from either device and digitize it to the computer. From there, export it to whatever media format you desire.

HTH.

Use Formac DV (or something similar, but I prefer that one). It's made for what you're dealing with.
