Hi all--

I just tried to stream a Windows Media Video Codec 9 file and played it using WMP for OS X. No video. I got sound tho. Is there something I need to do to see Windows Media 9 content? Is it even possible on OS X?

thanks,
chris

Unfortunately, not until Microsoft bring WMP9 over to OS X. Several months ago, they mentioned that there was no Mac market for it and that they would evaluate things.

Is it just me, or is the video quality for Windows media player really crappy? I have identical files on my pc and the quality is much better than the mac. I have version 7.13. The video is really choppy, it skips, and its just a pain to watch.

Can anyone recommend a different player that plays all types of media files? My WMP does not recognize certain .avi files as well. Hopefully theres a free program out there somewhere?

Gracias

Thanks but it wont play my files for some reason. I see big choppy pixels that jump around and every once in a while i'll see the correct video but for the most part its dancing pixels.

WMP for mac does not play any avi files, only asf

MPlayer should play asf files now, as well as avi and everything else. it's not the best interface though

No market for a free app? M$ had stop taking those pills.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
