Hi there, my old Sony earbuds just died and i'm in the market for a new pair of earphones. I have a fairly eclectic taste in music, everything from metal to jazz to classical, and since i'm on an iBook most of the music I listen to will be on my earphones since the iBook's internal speakers are just slightly lacking

Does anyone have any suggestions? Earbuds are a preference but only because they fit in my case easier.

Thanks

They're big. They're ugly. But the sound is fantastic. Just bought a pair of SR80's for my iPod and Powerbook, and don't regret it a bit.

Or you could go nuts and splurge on a pair of the $300 Bose noise cancelling headphones. My friend bought a pair and tried them out for 30 days before returning them (he could never really afford them). I got a few days to play with them and wow -- Noise cancelling is useful for any situation because it cancels out annoying hums and hisses that take away from being totally immersed in your music. If I had $300 to throw around, those would definitely be on my list. The only problem I had is that there's a box that's between the jack and the headset because the noise cancelling feature needs a switch and a place to store the batteries. It can be clipped to your waist tho.

They're very comfy too.
