I just ordered a Toshiba e740 and im going to be using PocketMac to sync up to my mac. My question is how do I convert my movie trailers that i have in quicktime format to WMV format so that WMP on my pocket pc can play it? or will it be able to play avi's?
But then again, I could be totally wrong

Most AVI's should be fine w/ WMP8 for the PocketPC. You can use PocketDivX Player for mpeg1, mpeg4, DivX and mp3s; PocketTV for mpeg1; and withMP3 for general MP3 playback.

If you really want to encode stuff to .wmv you'll need the Windows Media Encoder, though it shouldn't be necessary.

And what has this got to do with QT .mov files being converted to WiMP format?
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

I was filling him in on his various options for PocketPC media players. Some of them will play various codecs in an AVI container. PocketDivX will play ISO standard mpeg4 files though it may not work with a mpeg4 you export from QuickTime Pro.

I've noticed that many players that work fine with mpeg4 produced by XVID, DIVX5 or WindowsMediaEncoder (using an ISO MPEG4 Standard Profile) cough up a lung when dealing with QuickTimePlayerPro generated content (maybe QT6.02 fixed this?).

(I get the feeling sometimes that it deviates slightly from the standard to make it so only QTPlayer can properly play mpeg4 files it generates)
