I have seen mini CD-Rs for sale, I think they are 3 inches in diameter. Does anyone sell the equivalent for DVD-Rs? If such a thing existsts, can my MDD's superdrive burn on them? Would they work in home DVD players?

They are available. One common brand is Maxell. Haven't tried them with a SuperDrive, but it should work, and they do play on standard DVD players.
