Does anyone know of any cheap (or free) OS X app that can do a bulk-resample of MP3s??? Basically, I want to use iNet Stream Archiver to record some of my favorite NPR shows for later listening on my iPod. It seems to default at 128kbps which seems uneccesarily high for spoken word and would quickly crowd my iPod.

I'm looking for something that could batch process a bunch of these MP3s and downsample them to something like 96kbps or 72. I've looked on VersionTracker but come up short. Any suggestions???

By the way, I have QuickTime Pro, Cleaner 5 &, of course, iTunes. But nothing seems to work the way I want it to.

iTunes will do batch conversion. When you say it doesn't work the way you want it to, exactly what are you looking for? I don't know how it could be much easier.

if you have any knowledge of the shell you can download and compile the lame source, provided that you have the developers tools installed. You could then write a shell script to do the transcoding.
