I kinda hate when people say 'is this a good deal?' because a 'deal' is so subjective. But if you're just asking for buying advice, I'd say stay away from this one. There has to be reason the camera is this cheap, and from what little I've read neither the image quality nor the customer support are considered very good.
If you only have $300 to spend I'd wait. Save up just a little more and get something like a Canon ZR50, which has a much better reputation. I know it's frustrating to wait but remember that you get what you pay for and, if you get something cheap you might be stuck with it for a while.
Just my $0.02.
