Computer - Powerbook Wallstreet/500Mhz/512 RAM, OS 10.2 w/PCMCIA Firewire Card

Problem - iMovie gives, "Camera Disconnected" message when using Sony TRV27.

Gave the Sony to my son, with my trusted Wallstreet. Used my Canon GL2 on Wallstreet, with the present PCMCIA Firewire card to be sure iMovie would recgonize a digital camcorder.

It did, and I was able to use my Canon GL2 with the Powerbook.

Went over to my son's tonight, hooked up the Sony, and get the "Camera Disconnected" message within iMovie.

Hooked up my GL2, and all worked well.

My son took the Sony upstairs and hooked it up to his B&W PowerMac (the one with two Firewire ports), and it worked as expected.

We know the problem is not the Firewire cable, nor the camera, but some combination of the Wallstreet and that particular camera is causing a problem.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.
