Hi all,
I have the ATI DVI->Component adapter for the 8500DV in my PC and I tried it on my Gigabook. No good . I have a Hitachi 32" Ultravision 4x3 HDTV and although the TV does try to work with the signal, I just never get any video from it. Depressing. It would have been nice to play DVDs on it that way.

According to my cable guy, most modern hdtvs have the dvi input disabled. This would be for the pirating from computers. But he didnt seem to know to mujch about what he was saying, so Im not sure. I havent tried it yet with my 57" hitachi.
