can i get video off the camera from the tape with a usb on an elura 40mc its a dv.

I'm not sure about the particular model. However, USB isn't fast enough for dv. MiniDV cams use firewire.

Would you mind restating your question? It makes no sense.

In any case, the Elura uses Firewire, not USB. However, you can use the analog out to transfer the digital video to a VCR and regular videotape.
