Puzzling MPEG File- MPEG 2?

	I got an mpeg file that will only play with a program called called VideoLan client. I get the picture but no sound. This file cannot be read in either quicktime or iMovie. Perhaps you can suggest how best to burn this file onto a DVD or an SVCD. I have most of the commercial software as well as a DVD burner. The file has a total size of a little over 4 gig. Thank you in advance or your help.
