Hey, I recently got a set of yamaha dd-55 drums which have a midi interface. I currently have an older midi connector that has an 8 pin serial connector on it. I was wondering if it would be more cost effective to find a serial-usb converter for that midi box, or to just buy a new usb one all together. Anyone know any good cheap ones? I dont feel like spending a lot of money just for a midi connector, thanks!

i think you'd be better off just getting a usb midi interface.

m-audio makes some good ones, but i'm biased, since i use a Midisport 2x2. i got mine for $69 some time ago. i don't what model you'd be interested in, since it all depends on how many ports you want. check out their products here:
