I downloaded ProTools Free and couldnt run it. Then i found out that i need another program from Griffins page, ok so i downloaded and installed it and still the protools free software does not want to start.

I did work with CoolEdit Pro 2 at a friends house and i kinda like it. is there another app for mac that does the exact same things like cooledit and is as easy as cooledit ? i dont want to spend alot of money. Around 100$ is max.

Any ideas ?

can you explain why you would need a program from Griffin's page in order to run ProTools? are you using some sort of Griffin hardware?

and you are using OS 9 to run PTFree, right? it won't work in classic.

give some more info on hardware setup, and what you are trying to do.

Aha !

Im trying to run it in Classic mode, that explains why i cant work with it.

Im using a powermac g4 876mhz single procesor.

What is a 100$ sound card that i can buy because i havent got a input on my soundcard, or is it bether to buy iMic ?

Are there any other good programs that work good like CoolEdit Pro for windows ? Im new to recording in mac because i mainly used the Pc for that stuff.

if you are somewhat serious about this recording stuff, i wouldn't use an iMic. one soundcard that people have been talking about is the m-audio audiophile 2496 . excellent card, but it runs about $150 street price, so it may be too much for you. if you can wait until it comes out, the revolution 7.1 card should be a good card, a little more consumer oriented, but i think they said it should be about $100.
