Hey all -

I'm at my wits end. I've used iMovie before on other G4s to import movies from my Canon Elura camcorder no problem.

I've been trying it on my new TiPB 1GHz Superdrive most of this afternoon and am going crazy. The TiPB is hooked to a 22" Cinema Display and an MacAlly keyboard/Logitech mouse.

Here's the situation - I have about 2 1/4 hours of footage from a conference. Energy Saver, Sleep, and everything is turned OFF. Yet the laptop still goes to sleep 15-20 minutes into the import, and the camera stops playing.

Then, when I try to import the video onto my Cube (test box) iMovie sees the camera and can control it, but does NOT allow me to import it. And the Cube I know doesn't go to sleep, since it's a server.

Both are running current 10.2 systems.

Any ideas?

Thanks

rick

Check the System Preferences->Screen Effects pane. iMovie stops importing if the screen saver kicks in.
