Hey y'all, I've got a problem I was hoping y'all could help with.

I'm trying to connect my powerbook to a a/v system with two monitors connected to a VCR, and DVD player, through a sony a/v controller. I've lost the s-video to composite adaptor that came with the machine so I purchased a cable to go from s-video to RCA, and a cable that converts the audio out to RCA. I can get the audio to come through, but no picture. The TV/Monitors have input channel 1 and input channel 2 and neither seems to work. The computer recognizes that a TV is connected, but I am unable to get a picture.

I'm a newbie at connecting my machine to anything other than an external monitor,so any help would be great!
please!

What are your specs for the PowerBook and OS? Are you running 9 or X? Is your PB a G3 or G4? Are you spanning the two monitors, or mirroring them?

Go into System Prefs to "Displays." Is there a tab there that says, "Arrangement"?

A lot of times the "Input1" and "Input2" are front and back inputs, respectively. Where are your cables plugged in, and do they correspond with either Input1 or Input2? Have you tried switching b/tw "TV/VCR" on the TV remote?

Sorry if I'm asking too elementary of questions; it's hard to help when you don't know much about the system someone has...
