Help!

For some reason, when I clicked on the cancas window, I lost the canvas and the timeline, but they're grayed out when I go to bring them back up.

I'm using 3.0.4 in OS X. The windows aren't minimized or "windowshaded." The project is still open, but no canvas or timeline. When I quit the app and restart, still getting no love. When I open other projects, still no luck. Restarted the machine, still, these options are grayed out! What the heck is going on?

Anyone else ever seen anything like this? Help me, please!

Hi.

Create a new "Sequence" in the browser window and it will bring these back.

Let me know how it works.

If you haven't already, I'd repair permissions and run a fsck just as a PM.

Reboot in single-user mode (hold down Command+S as it's rebooting). At the command prompt (%), type "fsck -y" and hit Return. If it tells you that the volume appears to be OK, type "reboot" and away you go. If it tells you that the file system was modified, type "fsck -y" again; keep running fsck until it says that it appears to be OK. Then type "reboot."

Same thing as Disk First Aid but without the GUI.

I must have been high on cocaine, though I could have sworn I wasn't! Double click on sequence and wallah, back in business.

Pathetic! Thanks again.

As for fsck, yeah, I run that every so often (once a month). The permissions suggestion was a good idea. A fellow at the NYFCPUG recommended that as a generally good idea when working in large FCP projects.
