Where does iMovie store trashed files?

Alright, I'm in charge of the neon DVD, and I have about 30+gigs of footage on my machine. What I was doing was making a chapter, then starting a new movie but using the same 'media' folder.

Well, turns out that now my old chapters don't work for some reason. I see that iMovie says it has over 6 gigs of clips in the trash. How do I get to those?

did you try searching your hard drive for files over 100 MB?
