This has got to be one of the worst examples of customer service in the industry: Less than two weeks ago, I received Studio DV/TV direct from Formac with EPROM 1.0.5. Currently their site lists 1.0.7. Today they announced an upgrade - free to those with 1.0.6 or higher but $49 for those lower. I spoke with a customer service rep this morning who couldn't seem to understand why I was outraged to pay for an upgrade for hardware that I have had less than 2 weeks, even though clearly it was already out-of-date when it was shipped. I was given a complete run around, and so far, the situation is still not resolved. Although this seems to be great hardware, this company hasn't the faintest interest in, or concern for, customer satisfaction. Buyer beware!

Try talking to another rep, sometimes that helps. Was there a return policy?

Thanks. I asked to speak with someone else "higher up," and was told "I am the only appropriate person you can speak to about this." But I intend to write a letter to the president of the company, and we'll see. I know I tend to be a "squeaky wheel," but it just ticks me off when companies show such short-sighted lack of customer service. This is no way to build a following, and eventually the word gets around that a company who uses these tactics is not to be trusted.

I have the same ROM version. I got my formac 2 months ago, I thought about calling and complaing about the price of the upgrade, but the update isnt that great, it adds a sound reocoding app and a setting to adjust brightness, etc for imovie3. I also know had bad their service is. Before I purchased the formac, I emailed them twice with different questions, both were answsered in a day or two. A week or so after I got it, I emailed them another question, I've yet to hear back from them. It appears all they care about is making a sale...
