Someone at work is sending QT to me by entering my external IP address. I can view this data on my PowerBook and see the video and audio, but I can't view it on my older PowerBook. It just sits there and says ready. I think that this may be a router issue where it's not sending the packets to all computers on the local network. I am using a Linksys wireless router, any suggestions?

Thanks!

check and see how Quicktime is setup to recieve packets, ie whether it uses UDP or HTTP, and what port. Then on your router, got to the fowarding pane and forward those ports to your local ip for you PB. Keep in mind that by opening ports for use, ALL traffic that comes on those ports will be forwarded.

this is just one possibility.

Other thing is to make sure that the video is compatible w/ the version of Quicktime that your running, ie if you want MPG4 Quicktime, then you need to use Quicktime 6.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found out the RTSP ports for Audio and Video and routed them to my PowerBook. I guess there's no ability to have it send them to all the devices on thet network.

To my understanding, in order to view a broadcast on more than one computer, you would need to send the broadcast to a QT streaming server first. You do not need OS X Server to do this, by the way.

Well, here's the thing, my corporate office is sending the stream in broadcast to my external IP. If my router sent it to all IPs or more than one then they would both receive it. I don't think my Linksys router can though, any thoughts there?
