Okay, I made the jump to OSX and now I can't find any conferencing software... okay, no free software. I was using
iVisit, but they don't have an OSX verison yet. Also, my Logitech QuickCam Pro 3000 doesn't appear to have OSX drivers. I can buy a damn driver from
IOXperts for $20, and then turn around and pay $25 for
SquidCam, but it's kinda hard to stomach that when it used to all work nicely and for free.
Man, I'm just sick of Mac's lacking basic support for hardware. Apple should be licencing products like IOXperts drivers and bundling them with Macs for free. Hell, Apple should be writing these drivers themselves! Apple needs to remove all barriers to entry. Every one of these little gotchas will turn away a potential switcher, and even though I'm a loyal Mac guy of 10 years now, it really irks me that I have to pay extra money to make peripherals work on my Mac. I had to plop down $30 for Missing Sync to make my Clie work with my Mac - and it's a damn Palm OS PDA! Why won't it work with a Mac like other Palm-based PDAs?? That's just crazy - and it's infuriating!
Does anyone know of some *nix freeware for this stuff that's been porting to OSX?
