Correct me if I'm wrong.

So from what I gather in other threads is, that the documented Keyframes option doesn't work in FCE?

There seems to be a work-around but there is no visual confirmation as to where the Keyframes are marked?

Is Apple aware of this problem and what is being done?

As one other person replied "...Keyframes is one of the main reasons why I purchased FCE", I second that notion.

If anyone can help, please post here.

I don't have FCE, but I do use FCP3. From my understanding, keyframing in FCE is limited to the Canvas and Timeline alone. While this covers a majority of the basic uses of keyframing, not being able to keyframe under tabs such as filters, motion, and audio in the Viewer limits you from the more advanced uses of keyframing when working with animation and compositing. You can still keyframe audio by using the pen tool and animate using the canvas so still, the keyframing capabilities of FCE are pretty darn good. Here's a good article from kenstone.net:

Thanks for the very informative link.

So Keyframing is possible but there is no visual Keyframe markings that positively marks the points?

Also, I’m having a tough time figuring out exactly what will work as a Keyframe action and what will not.
