how many mins can I put on a DVD?

I'm going to start a prodject in a couple of weks borrowing my friends iMac to burn some DVDs. How many mins can a DVD hold including the markers (which will be around 15 I think) Can I get 80 mins?

using iDVD you can get up to 90 minutes on a DVD, so your 80 minute project is okay.

It depends on which program you use. iDVD may have a 90 min limit, but there's no limit on the DVD itself. I just finished a disc with 10 hours of video.

so do you use DVD studio? I havent used it before but it might be the way to go (for this and all the futre stuff I plan on doing) Will iMovie 2 import right to it like iDVD?

It's VCD quality (slightly better than VHS tape), so it's very watchable for my needs.
