Hey all, I'm looking for input on good user friendly free software for making loop-based tunes with OSX. I'm not planning on inputing anything on my own, I just want to make electronic, downtempo, D&B, ambiant, etc. tunes with a program with an assortment of archived sounds and loops. The variety of programs out there is overwhelming - where should I start?

I don't think you are going to find something for free. What you are really looking for is reason, which is cheap, simple and powerful.

If you need help, Storm is excellent, with it's composition wizard, and only $99. www.arturia.com, but use IE, I can't get it with safari for some reason.
Live is excellent as well, and is superfun.

Go with reason. I bought Live and Reason at the same time and I NEVER use live. It is a sucky, non-useful program IME.
