best way to import PC MPG-2 into DVD Studio Pro

I want to use my PC to encode MPEG-2 variable bitrate and import them into DVD Studio Pro 1.5.2 simply because the PC is faster and produces a better video than the G4/Quicktime encoder.

How large should my file be and will DVD Studio accept a split stream with the audio in WAVE format.
