does anybody know of any applescripts for imovie?

what i want to do is use imovie as a hi-tech VCR, to capture a TV show at 6pm every day. i have a DV bridge box, which i just have connected up to my iMac, and the signal output from my TV channel connected to the "video in" port on the DV bridge.

so i basically need a script that will tell imovie to start capturing at 6pm and finish at 6:30pm. no need for anything other than that (i get home at 10:30pm most nights and will do the necessary editing, encoding as mpeg etc then)

any ideas?

cheers,

-Mark

I'm not sure if iMovie is scriptable. If it is then Apple just doesn't offer any, but that is rare for an app that is.

I looked into this last year, and I'm pretty sure iMovie is not scriptable. I went with BTV Carbon, which is a great app ($20 shareware, well worth it). www.bensoftware.com
the author is also very prompt with tech support.

I found it to also not have these disadvantages that iMovie has with my dazzle hollywood bridge. iMovie insists on splitting files at about 2 GB, causing a small gap between files. iMovie always sets my device to "passthrough" when opened, and occiasionally at random points during capture (which makes it basically useless as a pvr). probably related to a weak TV signal and automatic scene detection. But BTV has never exhibited any of these problems

Also, I've tried iMovie 3 and it's ass slow
