so,

i've got some television shows on dv tape and am going to import them into my imac. how do i make this footage mp-4? i'm going to be getting that archos multimedia 20 that has a little screen on the front of it. i'm pretty sure it won't play mpegs though, but it will play the new mp-4's.

also, can i use imovie or what? maybe quicktime has some importing feature?

thanks
-patrick

In iMovie, under Export to Quicktime, expert options, choose MP4 as the codec you want to export to. I'm not sure if you have to have QT pro to do this in iMovie or not.

In Final Cut Pro, go to

File > Export > Select Quicktime Movie >Under settings, click on custom > Under Quicktime Video setting, select MPEG-4 Video
