Can my Canon Optura Pi be used as a DV bridge? I'd like to digitize some old VHS movies and an occasional TIVO show. I don't see instructions anywhere in the manual and I know some Canon DV camera's can do this. What's my best option if it can't be used as a DV bridge? I'm currently recording movies onto a DV tape and then transferring it to iMovie. It's getting a little old and I'm thinking of just getting a video capture card for either my Mac or PC.

Nope, it can't act as a pass-through. It took Canon a few models after the Pi to implement this feature--which I think began with ZR-45 (50, etc.), Elura2 (or 20), and Optura 100 (or something).

That's a great camera you have-wanna sell it?
Thanks for the reply. I guess it's time for a trip to Costco for a case of DV video tapes.
It is a sweet little machine. I got it for $899 new 2 years ago. I'll keep you in mind if I ever think of upgrading
