I've never done much with video editing, especially on a Mac. I am looking to edit some footage I shot with some of my friends using an old analog video camera, but I'm not sure where to begin. What hardware/software do I need to get the video onto my TiBook?

After that, I'm sure I'll have a slew of questions, but I'll start with the first step so not to get ahead of myself. Thanks.
Just my $.02 :-)

If it's an analog video camera you're going to need some kind of device to digitize the footage. There are standalone analog-firewire converters for less than $400 i think, probably you can get one for $299. Or, most consumer level digital cameras have the ability to act as one of those devices by connecting the analog camera to the digital camera and connecting the digital camera to the computer. After that you simply use imovie to capture the footage, then edit within that to your hearts content... It might not be such a bad idea to go through the tutorial in imovie, or buy a book on imovie to help out. Good luck.
There is no emoticon for what I am feeling!

My system specs:

overpriced, underperforming, but sleek nonetheless.

I also have a G4.
