I'm putting together a little home made MacTV. Right now the machine is a G3 350 and it drops frames left and right! Now I'm wondering if a G4 is worth the money, or is I'm better of saving the cash and sticking with a faster G3. Lets say a 450 Mhz G3 vs a 450 MHz G4, for decoding only. Right now it looks like MPlayer is going to be the app I use. Mostly DivX movies. This Digital Hub of mine will do other things too, but not at the same time, and non as demanding as decoding. The computer has a good card too, an ATi 7000. It just needs more power.
