Ok...looks like I finally have a question for this section.

Final Product: A video presentation that outputs 2 or 3 different, but synchronized, video streams to 6 large plasma monitors

Discussions for this project are just underway, and I am trying to gather as much information as I can regarding the technological (hardware) limitations. An audio-visual company would be providing the screens, sound system, and likely any dvd players that would be necessary. I am approaching this conceptually with the intent that 1 video stream/dvd will be the 'master stream', with the other 1 or 2 streams simply providing video decoration to the master stream.

Question: Can the desired output to 6 screens from 2-3 input streams be achived, and what type of (accessable and affordable) video controller-mixer would I need to implement this solution?

Edit: Alternatively, if someone could suggest a different forum that could be of more help, I'd appreciate it..

Your main problem is synching up your final players. I suspect you would have to go to a pro type DVD player with computer control - check out the Pioneer DVD-V7300D which I think has this option. Another option would be to produce as a multi image on a single video then split the signal via a box as used in video walls .... but the quality would be pretty poor.

If the sync isn't too important then the cheapest option would obviously be to simply have 3 players and press play at the same time!

As far as editing your programme I would reccommend you work it out as a multi image programme using picture in picture, with say all the video for player 1 on video channel 1, all the video for player 2 on channel 2 etc.. This way you can see images in relationship to each other, and you have something your client can see and approve. Once you are happy with it, then break it down into seperate sequences from each channel for each player at full screen.

It's great to hear of someone being adventurous and breaking out of the standard TV box... it should be a fantastic show!
