Hi all:

I'm looking to sample a short, spoken phrase from a DVD to use in a loop for an audio tune. I'm taking it from DVD rather than VHS to ensure it's the best quality. What would you recommend as the fastest, easiest way to do this? I suspect (but am hoping it's not true) that I'll have to extract _all_ the audio and convert it to an AIFF, then edit that - is this the case? Any info appreciated!

Something like Audio hijack or streamripper, I would think. Wiretap (in beta from Ambrosia) is perfect for this.
Is this a DVD in your drive, or hooked to a TV?

Hey dampeoples: thanks for your quick response. It's a DVD in my drive (Panasonic 104 in a FP iMac). Do you know if any of those utilities capture in stereo? As I mentioned, I need the best quality possible...

cheers,

kingskel

Wiretap does, I've never tried the others, but I assume they would.
