me and a friend were bored today, so we made this rather short movie. was fun, got to play around in iMovie 3. i am very impressed with iMovie.

any idea how i can make a vcd out of this mov, so i can watch it, or future movies, on a dvd player/tv?

Yes you must have been bored!

Cute though.

To make VCD's use Roxio's Toast. One caveat though, although I own this product have never actually done this so don't know how easy/hard it is.

It's super easy. Choose Video CD, then drag the movie in. Toast will then convert the movie into MPG and create your VCD.
