Sorry to disappoint you, but according to iMovie 3'scompatibility page, the Panasonic NV-GS50 isn't compatible, unless it goes under some other name also.

yeah, I checked too, but panasnic dont agree, I tried it on a sony vio and
it still couldnt see it so i took it back mmmmmm got a sony instead.
