I'm going to eventually buy a FireWire mixer so I can do portable recording, but in the meantime, is there a cheap solution that will allow me to get at least one mic hooked up into my Powerbook for acoustic recordings/jams?

(Better yet would be a cheap solution to get a mixer hooked up to my Powerbook since my friend/bassist has one.)

Try thisiMic

I have one and for $30 it lets you use your own mic. The quality is excellent as far as I can tell and its smaller than a hockey puck to put it in a Canadian perspective
