Have a Panasonic Mini DV Video Camera (3 Chip) which has the capability of takeing still photo's. Yet, when I connect the camera via firewire to FCP the camera and my 17 Powerbook talk instantly but, if I connect the camera via USB and turn the camera onto Card/Phot mode iPhoto won't read that the camera is connected. Can anyone help?

Have you tried using Image Capture to see if the camera is detected there?
