Can someone give me some programs that are a good alternative to the PC's popular ACID and Fruity Loops, but for OS X?

You might look at Phrazer or Phatmatik Pro. Phatmatik operates as a plugin for a host system.

I would recommend Live, it really is such a cool program, however, you can't use any virtual instruments in it yet, thought you can rewire it to Reason and use Reason as an instrument.
